The Great South Coast runs from Camperdown west to the South Australian border, taking in Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Portland and the Hamilton grazing country. Warrnambool is the regional centre with a Deakin University campus and a large dairy processing industry. Portland has the deepwater port, the aluminium smelter and a lot of wind farm work. Inland it is wool, beef and cropping.
