Guides

Every guide carries a named author and a visible last reviewed date. Both are printed on the page, not hidden in a footer.

24 guides · Last review · Reviewed every six months

Stale evergreen content is the main way a directory gets flattened by a core update. A guide written two years ago that still quotes a licence class nobody holds any more, or a price band nobody charges, drags down every page it links to. So each guide here is on a six month review cycle. The date moves, or the guide comes down.

How the guides work

Who writes these guides?

A named person, with their role printed at the top of the guide and again in the sidebar. Nothing here is published anonymously and nothing is published under a house byline. If a guide gets something wrong, you know exactly who to email about it.

How often are the guides reviewed?

Every six months. Stale evergreen content is the main way a directory gets flattened by a core update, so the last reviewed date is shown on every guide. Either the date moves or the guide comes down.

Can a business pay to be recommended in a guide?

No. Guides link to category and town pages, and those are ordered by a quality score built from profile completeness, claim status and licence checks. Money does not touch that order. Advertising, where it exists, is boxed and labelled.
