What these are for
Every tool answers a question that comes up on the border and nowhere else, or answers a national question without making you sit through an ad.
Two states, one town, two sets of rules. A builder in Wodonga quoting work in Albury deals with two registers, two licence classes and two public holiday calendars. The tools exist because we had to answer those questions to build the directory, and there is no reason to keep the answers to ourselves.
None of them collect a phone number, and none of them are a sales funnel. If a tool sends you to a government register instead of answering, that is the tool working correctly.
Common questions
Do I have to sign up to use these?
No. There is no account, no email capture and no trial. Every live tool on this page runs for anyone who opens it, including people who have never heard of us.
Why give them away?
Because links are worth more to this site than leads are. A tool that answers one annoying question in thirty seconds gets linked to by accountants, councils, forums and trade groups for years, and those links are what lift the listing pages underneath. Putting a form in front of it would earn almost nothing and cost all of that.
Are the answers official?
No tool here replaces a government register. Where a public body is the authority we send you straight to it and name it on the page. Where a number comes from our own listing data we say so, and we say when it was last read.
