Gold rush streetscapes, courthouses, gaols, homesteads and rail buildings, with the Beechworth precinct largely intact, including the courthouse where Ned Kelly was committed for trial in 1880. Protection runs on two systems: the State Heritage Register under the NSW Heritage Act 1977, and the Victorian Heritage Register under the Heritage Act 2017, with councils adding a Heritage Overlay on the Victorian side. Junee is a railway town. Its roundhouse is the largest surviving locomotive depot in NSW and still turns rolling stock, and the correctional centre on the edge of town is one of the biggest employers in the shire. Broadway is the main street, and a licorice and chocolate factory in an old flour mill pulls weekend traffic off the Olympic Highway.
Listings are ordered by a quality score built from how complete the profile is, whether the business has claimed it, and whether we have checked a licence against the state register. Paid placement does not move that order, and any promoted slot is boxed and labelled where it appears. How we handle advertising.
We list 1 heritage site covering Junee, NSW. All of them are based in Junee itself.
