Murray to Mountains Rail Trail
One of Australia's best known rail trails, 137km of sealed path linking Wangaratta with Myrtleford, Bright, Beechworth and Yackandandah. It runs in four main sections: Wangaratta to Bright (82km) through the Ovens Valley, Everton to Yackandandah (38km) which climbs steeply through Beechworth, Wangaratta to Oxley (9km) in the King Valley, and Rutherglen to Wahgunyah (8km) across wine country. Most of the trail has gentle rail grades, with the steeper climbs on the Everton, Beechworth and Yackandandah sections.
