Burke Museum and Beechworth Historic Precinct
The Beechworth Historic Precinct groups four gold era buildings in the centre of town: the Beechworth Courthouse, which houses the Kelly Trials Exhibition and its 270 degree wrap around multimedia experience; the Burke Museum, holding more than 30,000 items including Chinese, goldmining and natural history collections, objects linked to Robert O'Hara Burke and Dame Nellie Melba, and a recreated 19th century street of shops; the 1858 Telegraph Station, which once linked the town to the outside world by Morse code; and the Powder Magazine. Tickets and current opening information come through the Beechworth Visitor Information Centre on Ford Street.
