Get three quotes at once
Not built yet. Here is the design and why it is deliberately narrow.
This tool is not built yet. Nothing on this page checks, calculates or looks anything up. There is no form, because there is nothing behind it. The page exists so the plan is public and so people can tell us whether it is worth building.
What it will do once it exists: Send one job brief to several verified trades across the Albury Wodonga border and compare what comes back.
Until then, see the tools that already work, or tell us what you need this one to do on the contact page.
This tool is not built. When it is, it will take one job description, one location and one preferred timeframe, and send it to a small number of trades who service that locality and hold a licence we have checked.
What it will not be
It will not be a lead auction. Nobody will pay to appear in the shortlist, and the ordering will come from the same quality score that drives the rest of the site. The moment a shortlist is for sale it stops being a shortlist and becomes advertising, and there is already plenty of that.
It will not blast the brief to twenty businesses. Trades in regional towns are on the receiving end of that model constantly and it is the reason so many of them stopped answering lead sites. Three to five, selected on service area and verification, is the design.
What it will do
- Match the brief to trades whose service area actually covers the address, using the same cross border logic as the rest of the directory, so a Wodonga operator who works in Lavington is in the pool.
- Show you who it went to before it goes, with a link to each listing.
- Record when each business responds, which is where the median response time figure on the category pages comes from.
- Let you close the brief once you have chosen, so the others stop chasing you.
In the meantime
Use the category page for your locality, open three listings, and call them. The phone numbers on this site were read from the businesses' own published sources and each listing shows the date. It is slower than a form and it gets a faster answer.
Common questions
Will businesses pay to be in the shortlist?
No. If that changes, this page will say so before it changes, not after. Paid placement is labelled and boxed everywhere it appears on this site and it never affects organic ordering.
How many businesses will get my brief?
Three to five. Enough to compare, few enough that the businesses take it seriously and you are not fielding a week of calls.
Will my phone number be sold?
No. Enquiry details go to the businesses you send the brief to and nowhere else. That is set out in the privacy policy and it is not a promise we would be able to quietly reverse.
What happens to my details after the job is done?
Enquiries are retained for the period set out in the privacy policy so the response time statistics stay honest, then deleted. You can ask for them to be removed sooner.
