Wonga Wetlands is an 80 hectare system of seven lagoons on the Murray River floodplain downstream from Albury, created using treated water from the city. More than 154 bird species have been identified here and six bird hides are spread around the lagoons. Walking trails of 0.5km, 1.2km and 2.5km start near the visitors centre, and the site includes an Indigenous Wiradjuri campsite with a cooking area, sleeping area, rock art displays and a ceremonial dancing circle.
